A real time mobile strategy game where you have 3 industries and try to have the best economy for your city state. Make sure you have enough supplies of materials to support your industries, develop technology, make trade deals and blockade other players.
The Human Equation is a fast paced twin stick shooter with RPG elements, set on a dying world where the human race is almost extinct. The dwindling human population lives in the slums on the outskirts of the last remaining city of Haven. The world outside the city is crawling with dangerous alien creatures that, it is said, will feast on your flesh. The other races in the city consider the humans as inferior, stupid apes.
This story follows a young man born in the slums on his journey to discover, not all is as it seems on this planet. A forbidden history is uncovered as the hero must venture out of his home and into the great unknown.
The game world is set out to represent stages of cultural and human development over the past 200,000 years. It is a journey of self discovery for both the character, and the player. This game will be a representation of the modern day world in its themes and social commentary. The game will also contain an accurate representation of ‘The Hero’s Journey’, as set out in the book “The Hero with a Thousand Faces” by Joseph Campbell. It will contain many references to movies, video games and literature. It will be light hearted and satirical as well as serious and poignant.
PMC gonna be a roleplaying game that allows you to create and manage your own mercenary guild.
You will send out your troops of Heroes in different Battlegroups into the World and defeat your enemies with a FF10/Grandia 2 battlesystem. So I guess I'm the first to try this out. Just a quick intro. I'm David, I go by Peepshow online and with various friends, and I'm one half of a two man team that is me and my brother. I do the design, writing and producing. I dabble with sound effects and music. Coding wise I did a bit in high school and made pong about 4 years ago so I understand how it works at least.
He does the art and is learning to code in his free time. We've talked about making a game for a long time and now that hes out of college we're looking at it seriously.
Anyway, I'm currently floating an idea in my head of a pre-apocalypse survival game. It would work in that you would control the player character in weeks, months, years leading up to the apocalyptic event. At first the event would be a simple nuclear annihilation but eventually different scenarios would be done like zombies, aliens, disease, natural disasters, rapture, worldwide tech breakdown etc. But for now I'm going to focus on just one event and see how it goes.
The player would control the characters day to day life, going to work, learning skills, stockpiling stuff, building a bunker etc. The player would have to manage all these aspects and keep an eye out for clues in the news and so on for when and what the event might happen or be.
Once the event has happened, the rest of the players life would play out in short clips until their eventual demise. For example:
The player has had 2 months to prepare for the event. In that time he has built a small shelter under his house, stockpiled a few months of food, got a gun and some friends on board to come over when the event happens. However he has neglected to actually train in any survival skills or even basic knowledge on how to look after his gun or lead people. Once the event happens, a special even would happen each day chosen from a pool at random
- Bandits attack
- A fight breaks out
- Food spoils
- Depression sets in
- Vital equipment in your bunker breaks
and so on. We would follow the small community (or just the player character, depends at this stage) in little clips and pictures and make choices at key events based on whatever skills you have/in your inventory. Once the player dies, a score is tallied up, your story is saved to replay at your will, and you can unlock things like new events, challenges etc based on your score.
Art wise you'd be looking at pixel art. Legend of Dungeon, Risk of Rain, Gods will be watching and so on. Very simple, but colorfully depressing you could say.
I'm looking to sit down a get a design document started by the end of the week but I was hopping to get a bit of feedback from people. Mostly on the core concept of preparing for the event as the main game.
PS: The description is very short for reasons of time and I remember that is a seed of course there will be more news and features, so it's all to wait ;)
